470 Starter (Pic) Does this Starter have a Starter Solenoid on the top?

I was messing around with the Starter Solenoid from my 470 and i think i did something to it.
I have an extra starter (please see pic), not sure if this one has a Starter Solenoid on the top or do i need to order a new one. Thanks for all the help!

the unit mounted on top of the starter body is the starter solenoid

what were you messing with , and what did you do to break it?

If you are replacing starter i just went this way thru oreilly auto parts lots $$$$$$ cheaper from a 1964 intl scout l4 engine SAME STARTER !!!! 470 starter.jpg

ultima reman # 38-0831
you just have to change out rear mount studs from old to new for correct mounting pretty easy

I was trying to clean the connections with sand paper, anyways i herd a crack when i finish tightening one of the connections. Went to go start the motor, The motor would start sometimes and would not start sometimes.

I got my starter from Ebay for $80.00 (Including Shipping).
How much is yours?

the plastic end cap does not like being really cranked down.should be able to remove the 2 mounting screws, connecting bolt , twist and remove it.

Ok great, i will just transfer the connections to the new starter solenoid.

i paid $ 64.00 with core but you got a good deal for the same thing i purchased
