Coosa board: Pros and Cons?

I know number one on the list of "Cons" is, expensive! I have not compared the price to all the other options yet so, maybe it is comparable in price. The "Pro" of lighter weight is enticing. Sounds like it might last longer than wood too. No rot and sag.

Said it before, I'll say it again...If you think paying 3 times more is worth a 10% reduction in weight then I guess it's worth it. Wood rots, True, but...Only if it gets wet. If a transom is fabricated from wood, encapsulated in resin and glass correctly, and maintained properly, it should never get wet and thus should never rot. Mine is 52 years old and looks like the day it was made. I just don't get it!!!!:confused:

Okay wow thanks! You get fired up about that one huh? Just looking for opinions. Anyone else? I'm leaning towards wood already.

I should have searched this on out first. I got lazy on this one. There is plenty of info on Coosa composites already here to keep me busy reading. Let this thread sink to the bottom.
