15hp wont stay running

I bought 1980 jhonson 15hp it ran when I bought it yesterday I change plugs and lower unit lube now it runs for few seconds gap at 30 it sat for few years it came with brand new tank and gas line and some gas 1-2 gal then I tried my tank still wont run

1.clean the carb
2,check if fuel lines are not cracked
3.check spark
4.try compresion test

New tanks quite often have a lot of junk in them. Sounds like some was sucked up and the carb is plugged up.

Spray some premix in the carb and see if it fires. If it does clean the carb. Also double check the fuel pump.
