I currently have two running outboards both with matching 15 HP kickers..and I need to figure out which one to keep and which one to sell. My boat is an old Fiberglass Glasspar Seafair Sedan (18 feet) so it really comes down to weight.

If the new motor (the 200) is close to the same weight as the 120 then I would rather go with it since it matches better and the 120 is on another boat.

Can someone tell me the weights of these two motors...or where to find them.

First motor;
1987 Johnson 120 Looper Power tilt

Second Motor:
200 HP Evinrude (dark blue)
I am unable to pick it up right now (laying in bed of truck) and didn't get the serial number off it so can only guess the year to be around 1987..it's dark blue with power trim.

Thank you.

Check outboards at Nadaguide.com. It will give you weights.

Thank you..
I went and had a read there and am hoping their weights are more accurate then the average retail prices...lol
On all the motors I checked weights on they said average retail was under $200...man if that's the case I need to know where to find them :)

For my reference:
'79 Mercury 115 = 309 lbs
'79 Mercury 150 = 349 lbs
'79 Evinrude 200 = 386 lbs
'87 Johnson 120 = 365 lbs

Gee, I think the difference is much more than NADA had. That 120 is a V4 and the 200 is a V6. I would figure close to 450 for the V6 and 350 for the V4. The Merc 115HP is an inline six and very light for it's power.

Looking at the chart below I would say you will have around 70 pound more weight with the 200

V4 1632 cc platform, 85/88/90/100/115 HP
20 inch shaft, elec. start, man. tilt -- 288 lbs
20 inch shaft, elec. start, trim/tilt -- 301 lbs
25 inch shaft, elec. start, trim/tilt -- 311 lbs

V4 2000 cc (loop charge) platform, 120/130/140 HP
20 inch shaft, elect. start, trim/tilt -- 365 lbs
25 inch shaft, elect. start, trim/tilt -- 370 lbs

V6 2448 cc (cross flow, 90 degree) platform, 150 HP
20 inch shaft, elec. start, trim/tilt -- 397 lbs
25 inch shaft, elec. start, trim/tilt -- 402 lbs

V6 2589 cc (loop charge, 60 degree) platform, 150/175 HP
20 inch shaft, elec. start, trim/tilt -- 370 lbs
25 inch shaft, elec. start, trim/tilt -- 375 lbs

V6 3000 cc (loop charge) platform, 200/225 HP
25 inch shaft, elec. start, trim/tilt -- 455 lbs.
25 inch shaft, elec. start, trim/tilt, power steering -- 480 lbs.
(This platform started out with lesser displacement (~2700 cc) and slightly lighter weight)

hope this helps a bit
