Hard to start/Wont idle

I have a 99 Mercury XRT 150 hp. It takes a while to get started when cold and once it starts it wont idle, I have to give it some throttle to keep it going. Just wondering if there are some things I can check/adjust prior to taking it to the marina, thanks.

fuel filters and clogged lines. after that i'd go through everything you would on a basic tune up and the condition of the gas.

Stale gas
Fuel enrichment system (choke)
Idle circuits in the carbs
