I am trying to find new aluminium gunwhale as mine are broken and the previous owner screwed on alum angle. Not pretty and catches my fly line all the time. Any suggestions as to where to find said extrusions. Thanks Dan

Might try alum boat mfgrs like Alumacraft, Dura Craft, Lowe. Never saw a scrap yard for boats like you see for cars per se. Some dealers have them but not at scrap prices.

Pictures? Metal supply yards can get MANY different shapes and you might have to get some seams welded and make your own....... was the hull converted from a closed bow to an open bow?

Another alternative is the "old fashioned" mahogany strip....... finished and varnished.

How about calling the original MFG and see if they still stock them?

Mahogany? With a flyfisherman, we're talking teak.:D

Have you priced teak lately? When I was looking for wood to trim my boat out, the price of teak made it an easy decision. My boat is now very attractively trimmed with mahogany.
