MerCruiser Won't Turn Over

While working on an acceleration problem, the starter suddenly won't turn over the engine, just clicks. Checked the battery, it was good, threw a charge on it anyway. Also, the trim motor inop, up or down, does the same thing, just clicks. Not sure where to look? Any ideas?

where are the power cables for the trim hooked to? sounds like loose/corroded battery cable connection.

I believe the trim motor and starter share a ground lug. I'll check that. Thanks.

That was it, bad ground. Replaced terminal and wire from battery to engine lug. Power is good again.
Now, back to the original problem!!!
