Blue band Merc 80 outboard

Hello, I'm new to boats so forgive me if my question is a bit simple.

I have a blue band merc 80 and have had it serviced. Seems to run ok but when its stood there is a small trickle of oil coming from the bottom of the engine. I guess its coming from the gear box.

Is this normal? Probably not even an egg cup a day.

Smell the oil that is dripping. Gear oil stinks like rotten eggs due to it's sulfer content. If it smells like gasoline or regular oil it is unburned 2 cycle oil and very normal.

I think it must be unburned as you said.

Thank you very much, a weight off my mind.

Maybe the fuel was a little rich.
