Not sure what a bellcrank screw is but have you undone the one under the carb that holds the shift rod?

before you do anything put a couple of bolts back in the LU, you dont want all the weight on that shiftrod

I dont have one here to take a picture
All you do to find it is follow the shift lever on the side of the engine and see how under the carb it moves a lever which pulls the shift rod up and down.
There is a screw on that lever which will require a flat head, back that out by going anticlockwise.
If you have one, use a magnetic pickup and pull it out and put it safely aside somewhere. your bellcrank screw is then thus removed.
If you dont have a magnetic pickup the shiftrod may still drop out with the screw just resting in there but its much better to get it out as it could end up somewhere almost unfindable

You will have to peer under the carb to see it there.
Some people remove the lower carb to do it as it can be a pain especially your first time

looked your one up.
its not what i thought but its still the same sort of system.
The shift rod should have a screw going through it which seems to have a bolt head like size 7/16 or something.
You might see it by looking from the front side of the lever
