probas, there is no such thing as a 100% "same as". However, for the parts you are looking for, the 1957 Johnson or Evinrude 35hp would be the same.
Think of your motor as being a 1955 Johnson or Evinrude 25hp but somewhat updated in many areas. That seal is one of those areas. The 1955 had two types of seals, one of them was a real loser. It was changed to the better one in 1956 and beyond, actually remaining clear up into the 1970's.
