87 OMC Cobra 3l 4 cyl - runs ok, won't plane

Hello all,

I have a 1987 Sea Ray with a OMC Cobra 3 liter 4 cyl i/o. Just tuned up last year and the boat ran fine when put on the water this year. First day out, warmed it up, took it for a short spin around the lake and docked it. It ran great. The boat was unused for 1 month and now it cannot get up on plane. Still starts fine, runs at trolling speed without issue. What should I check?

Welcome to IBoats, first, I would check your fuel for water. What rpm is the motor running at wot. Are you sure your trimmed all the way down.

Thanks. I'll do that. Yes, trim is all the way down. No water in the hull. I think around only around 2500 wot but can't seem to get past that. No changes were made to the boat other than sitting at the dock for month.
