I've been checking out the Yamaha parts list and noted that the part numbers are different between a 1989 2.6L 150 and the 175/200 block. However for other years the part number is the same.

Does anybody out there know what the differences are in the blocks?
Could I easily convert the 150 to 200 by replacing the heads and jets?

So after all this time i did end up uncovering a number of secrets for these engines. I have no built a 225EXcel and also built a Frankenstein engine, 6G5 Block, exhaust ports opened up. 225 heads and carbs and it runs great. All these motors have the YMIS computer controlled ignition that make a huge difference to the power delivery. The Frankenstein engine was run in using the standard mechanical ignition and once the YMIS arrived it and installed it was such a huge change, massive increase in mid range power.
