Re: pete

What engine do you have? Sometimes you have to pull the motor depending on which engine. If its a V8 You'll need to pull it.

Re: pete

If you had water in the drive?? You need to do a pressure test.
It's a sealed unit and replacing the bellows won't help it.
The motor usually needs to come out on the v-8s for bearing and seal removal.
Drive off/ reach in and try to wiggle the shaft.
Start the motor and feel the housing and see if there is any bearing noise?
There is a grease fitting above the shaft on the bellhousing.
Try greasing that as the motors turning over.
You might not need to pull the motor??
Fill out the profile, location. You might be close to someone who can help??

Re: pete

thanks Jerry for your help. I greased the connecting shaft bearings and that looks good. Your right, the out drive is a sealed unit, I wasn't staying focused on that. I'm in the process of replacing the seals and gaskets on the drive, going good. Will be able to test it next weekend in Bay City Michigan. Now I'm on the right, the rest should be a piece of cake. Thanks again.
