Ok I've been working on motors for along time I've worked on Suzuki's and Johnsons mostly. Not a whole lot of mercs. I have a 1984 Mercury 18HP recoil start. Its running 120 on both cylinders, I have good blue spark on both cylinders while checking the plugs on the outside, Its sucking fine through the intake and getting fuel. When I crank it over Nothing happens, no pops, bangs or anything. I even got desprite enough to try either just to see what would happen still nothing, spray'n it in the carb or pulling out the plugs and squirting it in cylinder produced nothing. I'm thinking maybe its out of time, but I have no clue on how to set it I have no book. It also has dots instead of numbers. Also I've never set time on a recoil start only boat how do you get the timing like to blink?
