Hi everyone, new to the forum, hope i can get some help tonight!

So I'm going on holidays tomorrow, getting my boat all ready. Charged the battery today, went to start it and nothing. Figured out that the battery posts weren't tight enough. Problem solved. HOWEVER....
suddenly after tightening the posts, the low oil alarm stays on constantly when I turn on the key. Before, it would chirp as normal. The oil tank is full.
Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Are you sure its the oil alarm and not the overheat one shorting out?
If you havent, pull off the oil alarm plug and check it goes all quiet

No I'm not sure at all. It's only ever made noise when it's low on oil. Otherwise just a chirp, which it did until I tightened the battery post. I didn't actually start the motor either, just turned over till it fired so it def wasn't hot. How many alarms are there? I've had the boat since '92 and never had anything more than that chirp (low oil aside)

So, on a whim, I pulled the sending unit out of the oil tank, and reinserted it, suddenly everything is back to normal?! Is my sending unit 'going' possibly?

Weird. The thing is hardly used at all anymore. Hopefully holidays go off w/out a hitch!

Maybe, probably not, sometimes they get a little trigger happy.

I run premix, makes for more reliable holidays.
