Under the front dash of my searay runabout is a fuel tank , and right next to it is some kind of pump unit (gray plastic and wired into the accessory switch. It has a 1/4" diameter clear plastic hose running to the top of tank. Is this a tank vent pump, it is not on the original schematic. Just curious. Thanks Mike

Pics? Sounds like an electric fuel pump to prime the motor instead of pumping a bulb.

Like GA boater says possibly an electric fuel pump, If so look at it close.It should have a marine sticker on it somewhere?
If not remove it.
Tanks in the front of the boat. It's a long draw or pull for a regular fuel pump.
That makes for hard starting if the boats sat for any time between uses.
If your in the US and use Ethanol you might want to replace the hose.
I had a 2nd tank under the dash,The hose wasn't E resistant.It blew up like a sick balloon.I caught it before it ruptured.
