shift rod length need help

ok I looked threw the secret files on here not sure which 1 is for my engine I made few mistakes already I have a 1989 110 evinrude not sure which shift rod length is right for my engine ? any help would be appreciated

I never bother about shift rod length unless im using one from another motor.
I just turn it in until it stops then back it out about three turns.
The thumb wheel up top should take care of any misalignment from then

I don't have that service manual. The 1990 20" shift rod height is: 21 27/32" +- 1/32"

thank you very much for the replies I set it to 21 27/32 today we will have to see how things go on the water it shifted good on the muffs. last week I had rushed things and adjusted the shift rod wrong it was to long and was popping out of gear so I am hoping this has fixed it. will post back if this fixed it. thanks for the replies
