how can I tell if it is a iv or v ignition. replaced the coil still no spark can anyone tell me in simple terms on where to go next. boat was running well and just started to miss and shut off. when got home and checked for spark and had none, turns over good but will not start. Ken
engine ser # is 4-43l1006s-of274722 I checked and when I groung the white green wire fron dist I have spark it tells me the ignition sensor in dist is bad but when I look at them they look different can you give me the part number I need

man overboard switch, no 12v to the purple wire on the coil, module inside the dist. power module.
serial number and some pics would be useful

I put this of274722, into this, Mercury Parts Catalog. And got TBIV. This is you sensor part #91019A 6.

Now you have the tool to look it up yourself.

That's a Thunderbolt IV, and here's the troubleshooting flowchart....

Sensor part number is 87-91019A6
