Yamalube or regular oil?

I have a 1996 Yamaha 175 Saltwater Series II (2-stroke) with 980 hours on it, of which I put on the last 150 hours. I've been putting Yamalube oil in it, and was told once you use yamalube stick with it. My question for you fine folks is what is the benefit to my engine by using this nearly 2x more expensive oil? I adhere to the if it's not broke, don't fix it philosophy, but haven't yet found a good answer to my question.
