I am a retired serv tech,i am try to diagnose a 50hp merc belonging to my neighbor.it did have a problem with the suction line collapsing internally.Lines/bulb replaced and bulb is staying hard now.While working on fuel issue I found a very burnt up yellow stator wire connector going ,of course to rectifier.no a/c volts coming from stator,other 2 green/stripe wires from stator are within ohms specs.also He disconnected oil level/alarm awhile ago because it is always on.On a waterrunning test he stated it was better but still won t go to higher rpm s.WILL the defective stator affect the rev limiter and how do I test the rev limiter. thanks
