Fuel Guage/Trim Level guage inop

ANyone have any ideas where to start diagnosing trim guage inop? it dont move up or down (The guage) but the trim works fine. Also having problem with fuel guage, Its stuck also. Moves every once and a while but i cant find the fuel tank to check connections. (1990 four winns freedom 190)

Gas tank should be center of floor maybe towards engine, trim gauge on my omc is on the drivers side (if i remember corect) and it is a little arm coming out that moves when you put the trim down, seems like this could break very easily. I would make sure your arm
