Hey all I'm new and have a question. I have a 2003 tohatsu mfs 15 b2 4stroke I need to replace the carb and think I can replace it with a carb from a mfs 18 b2. Does anybody know for sure and if so which part # to use. It is a tiller steer manual start. Thanks in advance

Hi
I am not an expert on tohatsu but there isn't any reason why you would have to replace the carb on an 03!!! I do own a 05 15 hp Mercury built by Tohatsu and I belive it uses the same carb. They are not easy to clean but if you use a GOOD soak cleaner they can be cleaned. Dealers tend to throw parts at things instead of fixing them. A carb to replace mine is $270 and I guess an 18 would be more. The gain of 3 hp is not worth it in my book, proper setup and a good prop will do as much. If you do buy a carb send me your old one, I have alot of freinds with 9.9s!!!

It doesnt have to be replaced but it needs overhauled. I found a new one on boats .net for a 18 for 197.00 so Im going that route. I will sell the old one if youre interested

With all the experts on here I would have thought one person could have told me if this would work.

Yes, the B2 block and crank are the same for the 9.9/15/18, so the 18 carb will fit.
You would order 3V9035002M CARBURETOR ASSY, MFS18B $197.38
from any dealer, including several forum members, including me.
