Best type of transom plug?

Recently purchased a 2001 Sea Chaser 175. Took it out and had more than usual water for 1 hour ride. After leak checking I found I need to re-seal everything (scuppers, live well inlet, xducer) and change the leaking factory plug (screw in plastic). I went to Academy and they have a Brass or Chrome screw in.

Can anyone tell me what is the best type? I plan on resealing all with 3M 5200. I will definitely upgrade the plug while at it and let everything cure all at once.

Brass.

Before resealing everything I would remove everything and let the surrounding areas thoroughly dry out.

Awesome, thanks! Will definitely clean/scuff and let thoroughly dry. Will give me time to do some trailer work also. Need to change some rollers and adjust boards.
