I have a 1990 90HP which I am nearly finished rebuilding. Two cylinders have been bored 40 thou the other two honed so two new pistons and for sets of rings, also new Conrod big end bearings. VRO disconnected, I think I have read somewhere that mix should be 25:1 for first 10 hours after rebuild, also no more than half WOT. Any advice? Thanks

Running extra oil will not hurt and yes I have heard the same thing before. A little extra smoke for a tank or so will not hurt anything.

Correct the factory specified running 25:1 for the first ten hours when breaking in a new or rebuilt outboard.

+1 After everything is done it needs the additional lubrication until the metal smooths out
