I have 2 - 2002 TAMD31P and the overheating alarm goes off when one of the engines temperature reaches 167 degrees f. I have put a infrared gun on the thermostat housing and it reads almost what the temp gauge is reading. I know that the engine is not overheating because I tested the other engine the same way and got almost the same results. My problem is where is the alarm sender located on the engine and do I need a special tool to replace it ? Also is there another test I can do to verify that the sender is bad ?
