I have just been given a Johnson Sailmaster 4 hp 2 cycl which looks to be in good condition. serial no. B 7937368 model BJ 4RLCEC.Could you tell me year of manufacture and what is its fuel mix petrol:eek:il? and does this engine have good reputation for reliability?:)

You have a 1989 and it's fuel to oil ratio is 50:1. I have not owned one of those but I have worked on a few. They seem to be a reliable motor, simple to work on, and parts are easy to get. Make sure the impeller is working and there's no water in the lower unit and you should get lots of use from it.
