Need some help here. I have no spark what-so-ever, so the flywheel is off and I think I know what the problem is (maybe). OK, with the points open, the terminal bolt is still grounded to the power head, and this is not right. After all, the terminal bolt is insulated where it goes through the stator rim.
With the points closed, it would be correct. I isolated the grounding issue to the primary lead, or the longer of the two wires that come out of the coil. The shorter lead is the ground lead that is grounded at the condenser screw.
So the Question of the day is: should the primary lead coming out of the coil be grounded, or is this an indicator of a bad coil?
Thanks
