While crawling under my boat/trailer staudying how it is set up in preparation for my new trailer, I noticed about a 6 inch gouge in the keel half way back. It appears to be thru the gel coat as the fiberglass shows, but it is a very thick area....was wondering how I should aproach the repair.

Hi<br /> I have done a few repairs similar to this, easy if boat is small and can be tipped up side down so that you can work "downhill" but, requires some skill if you have to work on the bottom and boat is still right side up, if the "scratch" is not too deep just some gelcoat filler will do the trick and is easy to work with, but if it requires some resin and mat then you will get resin up your arms and drips on your head for sure (unless you are good with liquids upside down) but still not a difficult repair
