140 for 120 mercruiser swap

Is it worth the trouble performance wise to swap a 140 for a 120 ? What is really the difference in the motors ,the old 120 motor is out of 18' starcraft holiday and is locked up .

If the 120 is locked up, then it's a no brainer. The 2.5L and 3.0L are compatible. I think the crank is different after 1986 but that only means swapping the flywheel and coupler.

Ayuh,... The motors are Very swappable, 'n the rear main seal change is I think '90 for the In-line motors,...

'86 is the V-motors,..

The Differences are 20 hp,......
'n the 3.0l has a harmonic balancer, rather than Just pulleys,...
