Engine upgrade from 165 Mercruiser to 4.3L??

Hi group,

I have a Slickcraft with a Mercruiser 165 inline six. The engine is getting worn as well the block has been welded by the previous owner.

I am capable of swapping engines since I have all the tools needed and rigging equipment but wonder what I would need to specifically watch for?!

Has anyone done this before?

No authority, but I'm guessing relocation of motor mounts. And, I would be concerned if a 4.3 would even bolt up to your drive. You may want to get your drive model and S/N handy for more discussion. I'd look for another I6 - 250.
