evinrude conrol box problem.

so I bought an evinrude control box and the throttle works backwards that is when I push the lever forward it pushes the cable out and not pull the cable in, stared and it for a while and cant figure out how to make it work the other way.it is the older style with a shift lever and throttle lever must be a simple fix but cant work it out cheers.

Isn't that the way it is supposed to work?
When you advance the throttle lever it extends the cable end to advance the throttle.

thanks daviet you are right I thought when the throttle lever is to rear of engine that was idle and forward was full throttle as that was the way it was when I got the motor and thought it had been shut down and put away.thanks again cheers.
