Volt meter hook up

1972 SLICKCRAFT 225 HP STERNDRIVE

I want to add a volt meter to my current gauges.

Do I just run a wire from the + side of the gauge to the Ignition switch, and the - side to ground ??

Sounds to easy to me

That is all there is too it. From the ign. switch I terminal to the + post on the meter and the - terminal on the meter to ground.

way simpler to connect to the same "I" terminal and ground on the closest gauge. Do the same for the internal light.
