I have a question with the lower unit

On the website it says the seal support pin is 3/4" long. Mine is 1/2". Does anyone with exp with this engine or similar know how long the seal support pin is? When I pulled the lower unit i think I may have snapped it but I can't tell if it def snapped? Thanks
