I have a 1977 Evinrude 9.9 that recently has started slipping out of foward gear, back into neutral. Is there an adjustment for it? Could a piece have broken? Obviously, with the age of the motor, it has been shifted many, many times, and could be worn. When going slow, no big deal, but when it slips out when you're roaring along, egad! Don't blow the motor...

Another question, is there a way to adjust or tighten the throttle on one of these motors? I have a 1985 15hp, that works great, there just seems to be a lot of play in the throttle when you turn the handle to speed up. This is more of being picky, because, as I say, it runs great, but I wish the handle rotation would be tighter.
