. OMC you may want to avoid unless you are mechanicly inclined ( techs won't touch those old Stringer drives ). Volvo 4 and 6cyls of that vintage will have rare and NLA parts should something go wrong ( parts to the drive and tune up parts are readily available ).
Mercruiser 140 or 6cyl 165 is what I would look for. Many parts for the 165 are still available and pretty much all the parts for the 140, but they are also just plain reliable power plants..
