I have a 1968 evinrude 18 hp. Last time I took it out, it wouldn't start. I finally figured out the problem was in the fuel pump. I took the pump loose from the block, and checked the diaphram, and it was ok. I took it apart, and it turns out the check valve in the plate on the bottom is sticking open. Has anyone dealt with this before? I've sprayed some carb cleaner in it, but that doesn't seem to be helping. Any help would be greatly appreciated
