Where does this piece go?

I have a 2001 70hp Johnson. I was cleaning up under the cowl and found this piece. The part number indicates that is an adjuster for the timer base assembly, #83 in the picture. Does anyone know how exactly this mounts on the motor?

Graphic1.jpgThat is your low idle speed adjustment. It mounts on the timer. You may have to remove the flywheel to install it.

Thank you schematic. Do you have a picture of the low idle speed adjustment installed? That would be a huge help. I will take a look at my motor this afternoon and try to figure it out from the picture you made.

I really appreciate it! I've been running my motor without that piece for a year and a half. It idles just fine. Do you think I need to go to the trouble to put it back on?

The only consequence would be inconsistent idle speed/stalling. If you don't have this........ROCK ON!
