When starting boat for season it started and ran fine, other than the proverbial dead battery. Jumped it to get it started (started fine) and while it was idling I decided to swap batteries. As soon as I disconnected the negative cable the engine quit, just like you turned the key off. Now it starts fine but when you release the key from the start position to run, it quits. Did I zap the switch box or what??? Found some bad wiring insulation from the cable plug on the housing to the switch box, which I replaced and it did not help.
