Removing bench seats in aluminum boat????

Is it a big deal to remove the bench set in an aluminium Vee hull? I was thinking it will make the floor replacement a lot easyier and also allow me to fill the seats with foam.

Any opinions?

Thwart seats in most aluminum hulls are a very important part of hull structural rigidity.

If you plan to reinstall them I see no problem except that the hull will flex immediately when you take them out. If you put in a new floor with the hull out of line then reinstalling the seats might be a big problem.

Maybe if you tell us the make and model of the boat we can be more specific.

The boat Modle is a 1986 Smokercraft Alaskan, 16 ft with 3 bench seats.
