Engine- Volvo Penta 4,3. GXI.
The oil level in the engine became more. No water in oil.
In what could be the problem?

What method are you using for checking for water in the oil?

Oil level rising can usually only be from 2 things, water getting into the crankcase from cooling passage leaks or fuel flooding past rings into the crankcase. Yours is fuel injected so if it starts at all then it is probably not flooding with fuel. Another check is smelling the dipstick and looking at oil color, fuel contaminated oil is light gray if it has been going on for a while.

Water in oil definitely not.
It would be an emulsion. It seems to me that the oil gets gasoline. But where?

Oil changed three months ago. Then added. At the next level check, saw that the oil is half inch above normal

You probably added oil and checked it previously with the engine not level.

1. If gas was getting into the oil you would be able to smell it, and the oil would be thinner.
2. Anything in an EFI engine that would put that much raw fuel into the engine oil would make the engine run terrible.
3. Check the oil after the engine has been off for several minutes to let the oil level settle down to normal.
4. Remove the dipstick, wipe it off and then re-dip to check the oil. Don't just pull it out and check the oil. It will never be right that way.
5. When checking the oil with the boat on a trailer, make sure the waterline is about level if you are comparing the reading from when it was in the water.

Thanks for the recommendation.
The oil level is an inch above normal. Liquid oil and gasoline smell.
What to check next?

Because you can smell fuel from the oil I would check the spark plugs to see if they show signs of an over-rich fuel mixture. I suppose if the fuel injection was leaking after shut off or the metering was way off that it could be pooling up fuel in the intake plenum and then leaking fuel into any cylinders that had the intake valve open while at rest. That raw fuel could get past the rings and into the crankcase. That would be a slow process though, and cause starting and driveability issues at lower RPM's. Do you have any other starting or driveability issues? How often do you use the boat?

IF you believe you have gas in your oil pull a half cup and let it set for 4 hour's....Take a match and drop in the oil..if she burn's yes you have gas in there...By the way have a fire extingsher ready.
