First time post long time viewer of the post(thanks for past info)... I just bought a 1988 Ranger with a 1988 200 hp Johnson from a friend a couple of months ago. It will not start or idle with out the manual choke set at around half way (the little red lever). With the lever all the way down it will not start. With the lever in the middle position the motor does not seem to reach 100 % at top end. I've tried marine carb cleaner new plugs no change, check all the little fuel hose through out the motor they seem ok... any suggestions?
