I am new to boating so need some help. I have a pontoon with a 1987 90 hp motor, When driving at 2800-3000 rpm the engine runs fine, any rpm's higher then that the engine sputters and stalls. It will start right back up after a couple of mintues and run good until it gets pased those rpm's, It acts like it is running out of fuel, tank has plenty of gas, the buld is not holding pressure, will that cause this problem? Thanks

If the bulb completely collapses then you may have a restriction at or inside the fuel tank. If pumping up the bulb constantly in order to make the motor run...then check fuel pump diaphragm. A 26 year old motor should have all of the fuel lines, bulb and pump diaphragm replaced if they are original. Note: Don't use the "grey" plastic lines they sell at the big box stores. E-fuels reek havoc with these.
