interior panel attachment

Hello all I restored my 1986 Chris craft 178 scorpion that I need to find out how they attached the backrest panels in the open bow.when I took it apart the screws that held them in place were screwed in from behind the vinyl but no holes in the fabric.

pictures would be really useful. most of them use furnitures nuts into the back of the plywood.

Hello Matt and welcome to Iboats :) ..

They would have used a T-nut in the wood ( where the Bolt would be from behind the fiberglass ) or a carriage bolt in the wood ( the nut and washer would be behind the glass ).

If your saying that the Threaded Bolts were attached to your bolsters .. then they would have been carriage bolts.

I agree with SigSaur with a pic or two :) .
