I read that if you push the key in you should be able to hear a "click" from the solenoid. I dont hear anything. is there a way to check to see if this is working?

Re: no click from primer solenoid?

You should only hear a click if the key is turned to the start position as well. If you did that and can't get the electrical primer solenoid to work, you can remove the wire going to it and jumper a wire from your battery and just touch that jumper-wire to the wire on the solenoid to see if it is working. If it doesn't work then, you may have a bad ground or a defective solenoid... If you own a DVM, VOM or any type volt/ohm meter, and know how to use one, you can check it out real easy... Let us know the results...

Yes take your volt meter and see if there is any voltage to the primer solenoid when you push in... If you do have voltage when you push in, then your primer solenoid is bad OR some how not grounds properly. If you don't read any voltage when pushed in then you have a wiring issue or bad ignition switch...
