For you guys who are proud of your 2x6 bunks.
Went back to MA for H.S. reunion. Took a drive to Cape Cod and stopped for lunch at Wellfleet Harbor. The Harbor Master was backing this in. It's a 2 axle galvanized steel trailer, no rollers, just 4x12 bunks plus a 4x12 cross piece with a "V" cutout for the stem on longer boats.
The guy driving the rig said they set up all of their trailers this way and use them for all of their boats up to their about 25 foot patrol boat. They salvage the bunk lumber from warf/pier demo in the harbor.
As I was leaving I noticed he had loaded a 16' skiff onto it - illustrating that they do, indeed, use it for all sizes of boats.
