Water in gas

I have a 1988 evinrude 30 hp i am getting water in my gas what would couse that please help

If you are using ethanol gas the ethanol attracts water; the only thing you can do is close the vents on yur tank when you are not using it and I use Startron ethanol treatment along with Stabil and haven't any problems yet; but over time I probably will.

I'd say closing your vents is a not-so-smart way to combat the problem. The use of a stabilizer, given the typical frequency of emptying gas tanks on boats, is definitely advised. So is keeping your tank full....prevents a lot of the condensation problems.

Do you gas up your vehicle at that same gas station... same fuel for lawn mower, etc?
