Weak telltale

1991 Evinrude 60.

My telltale was flowing rather weakly on earmuffs. I assumed I needed to change the impeller as this was a motor that hadn't been run in a few years. I replaced the impeller and housing gasket and checked all the other seals and o-rings. Stil have a weak flow. I know I should get a stronger flow in the water, but I'm comparing th eflow to my 97' 40hp currently on the boat, that shoots water across the yard it flows so much stronger (don't know if this is an applees to apples comparison).

I've also watched videos of other omc 60 and 70's running and have noticed their telltale flows are stronger than mine. Any suggestions?

My engine a 89 force has low water pressure to but in a water bucket its great some times the muffs just dont seal to the engine good.

I would run motor out of barrel or at the lake if possible. I don't like to run them on muffs. when in doubt or its been a while it wouldn't hurt to replace impeller. my 2 cents.
