Good afternoon fellow boaters ..

I've recently received an older v-hull aluminum boat from my brother-in-law, and unfortunately, it has no branding or other markings to help identify the make. The boat measures a total length of 13' 6", and I've attached a few photos ..

I'd like to put a engine on it, but I'm a little uncertain the load capacity this boat would take. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to iboats!:welcome:

It appears to be rather narrow, so I would imagine the maximum horsepower is on the order of 7.5.

Thanks .. it's really my first experience getting into boating, so I'm a little anxious to get things right. I was originally looking between 6HP - 9.8HP, so this gets me in the right direction. Really appreciate your assistance.

Looks like the rentals I used as a kid in the '60s. I think they had a 9.9 on them,,, nothing bigger I'm sure.

Yeah .. it's definitely an old one, but I'd be a little nervous to put a 9.8HP on it, especially since a 4 stroke ways in excess of 80#. Not really sure what the load capacity would be on this...
