1983 Johnson 35hp; Negative Lead Connection

Hello All;

This may sound silly but want to do this right.

I am hooking up the negative lead from the battery to the motor and can not recall where I had my negative (black) lead from the battery connected to; where is it grounded on the unit?; if you can best describe where it is should be connected to that would be great!

It is an electric start.

On the starter side there's a bolt high on the cylinder block

to be more specific as to what likitvi said, check your exhaust cover (port side of engine). Most are regular hex-head bolts and 1 has a threaded post for connecting your negative lead (see part #59 in the cylinder crankcase diagrams).
