Plug wires??

Can I use standard plug wires for a tractor? the local farm supply store sells wire kits for a 4cyl tractor for $12. Also does it matter if I use 7mm or 8mm wire? I have a 56evinrude 30hp I want to replace wires on.

If the wire is metallic core its ok. But you do realize that the wires on your motor could be a lot longer than the wires that come in the kit! (!dont quote me on this, but the wire for number 2 cyl could be 3 ft long or longer) Also 7mm is the standard size. You may not be able to get 8mm to fit in the coils.

7mm is the most often used but as long as it's a quality grade of spark plug wire it shouldn't make any difference.
